FACE

Lift

Facelift surgery can be performed alone, or it can be performed simultaneously with surgeries such as neck lift and temple lift, depending on the need. Due to aging, the bone tissue and adipose tissue on the face lose their volume over time, and the skin and muscle tissue lose their elasticity and firmness.
As a result, wrinkles in our skin due to aging, downward sagging on the cheeks and neck around the eyes, facial volume loss due to decreased fat tissue and flattening due to this, shrinkage in the upper part of our face and sagging in the lower part at the same time manifest themselves. We can transform an aging face to a face 10-15 years younger with lifting.
Depending on the deformation, this may sometimes only be with facelift surgery, but it is usually performed together with eyelid surgery and neck lift.

When performed together with eyelid aesthetics, a rejuvenated eyelid that accompanies the rejuvenated face always provides a more beautiful appearance. You can reach the eyelid aesthetics and other surgeries and applications related to the youthful look from the other content on our site.

Surgical Procedure

The most important point in facelift surgery is the choice of the surgeon who will perform the surgery. For this reason, it is extremely important that you choose a specialist surgeon. The patient look 10-15 years younger after face lift surgery. For this reason, it should be taken into consideration that the patient may need re-lifting surgery while performing this surgery.
It should be such that a lifting operation can be performed again without damaging the tissues. During the surgery, the nerves of the facial mimic muscles should not be damaged. It is extremely important to protect these nerves during stretching surgery. For this reason, it should be performed by medical staff who are experienced in the stretching process.
If the deformation and aging on the face of the patient is low, mini face lift is preferred and recommended. Lifting is applied to the area where the problem is high. The most commonly applied method is the mid-face lift. If the deformation is more, whole face lift and even neck lift are performed additionally at the same time.
Mini face lifting is where full face lift is performed more limited. It is preferred in patients who do not need a full face lift but have sagging on the face that cannot be removed by non-surgical methods. In such patients, volume depletion in adipose tissue is usually observed. For this reason, fat injection (fat filling) is performed additionally during the stretching process.

Fat injection is the process of transferring the own fat taken from the patient’s body to the areas on the face where the volume is desired to be increased. For patients with mild sagging in the mid-face area, lifting can be performed with incisions made from the temple and intraoral area. In this technique, there is no incision in front of the ear and lifting is performed by hiding the scars with small incisions.

Total face lift is suitable for middle-aged patients with advanced facial deformation. In the full facelift procedure, the incision starts from the temple area and continues towards the front of the ear and surround the ear. If jowl stretching is required, an incision is also made under the chin.
By reaching the tissues under the skin, the adipose tissue is exposed. After this stage, the face is hung upwards. Then the excess skin is removed and the lifting is completed. Since the incisions will be on the scalp and behind the ear, it does not pose a problem. A few weeks or months after the surgery, the suture marks of the incisions may first be slightly pink and red. However, after 8-10 weeks, these scars will turn into their own skin color over time.
It can be performed in different plans with full face lift surgery. One of them is deep plan facelift surgery. With the deep plane facelift technique, deeper tissue layers are reached and all tissue layers are reshaped on the bone tissue. With this technique, the entire face is lifted. As a result, the cheekbones become fuller and more pronounced.

Face lift and neck lift operations are performed under general anesthesia. While mini facelift takes 2-3 hours, full facelift surgery takes 4-5 hours. After this surgery, a drain is placed so that blood does not congest under the skin. After stretching surgery, patients usually stay in the hospital for 1 night.

After Surgery

Drains are usually removed the next day. After the drains are removed, the patients are able to discharged. It is expected to have swelling and bruising on the face in the first days. After the surgery, pressure is applied to the face and neck area with face masks designed and suitable for this surgery. These masks are used for 1 week. Afterwards, it is continued to be worn at night for 1 more week.

Most of the swelling disappears in the first 10 days. However, it takes 1 month for the face to take its final shape and for the mimics to fully return to their original. As a result, after this surgery, our patients have a much younger and more tense face at the same time.
