Root Canal Treatments

Healthy teeth closely affect a person’s quality of life and their current state of general health, especially the digestive system.

The vascular-nerve and living tissue in the inner part of the tooth creates a painful problem. Root canal treatment, where the living tissue is being removed, disinfected and then filled with a biocompatible material, is a valid and satisfactory treatment method for decayed and fractured teeth.

Back in the days, teeth were extracted right away, now there are options.

When is a root canal treatment required ?

If there is a pulp infection, a lesion at the apical region (visible by radiography, mostly discovered by routine controls) or spontaneous dwelling pain, root canal treatment might be the best solution to preserve the tooth. According to studies, success rate of are above 90%.

How is a root canal treatment performed?

The living vascular nerve tissue located inside of the tooth is called pulp. A panoramic or periapical radiography is taken first in order to determine the correct tooth responsible for the pain and whether there is an infection at the apical region of the root.
After deciding that a root canal treatment is required, local anesthesia is performed, the pulp is removed entirely and the canals are thoroughly irrigated with disinfecting solutions.

Post-Endodontics

After a successful root canal treatment, depending on the remaining vital tissue, the tooth can either be restored with a filling material or with a crown.

Save your tooth before it’s too late !
